Why Your Application Get Declined

Here are many reasons that may cause a decline in the status of the COVID-19 grant application. Such as

Alternative Income Sources

SASSA status check is declined due to the identification of alternative income resources. If you are applying for the SRD R350 grant, you must be unemployed.  If SASSA finds you with alternative income resources, they will decline your application because you violated the application conditions.

Undefined Income Sources

If you forget to mention the details about your income sources, then your application will decline. So, update and resubmit.

Wrong Bank Details of the Applicant

It is necessary to provide accurate personal details. If you give the details from any one of your family and friends or give the wrong details, then the application will be declined.

So, get an SRD 370 grant in your personal bank account. For this purpose, it is important to open a bank account first before applying.

Wrong Username or Wrong Surname

If your username or surname is not the same as your ID card, then it is confirmed that your application will decline. So, don’t use random usernames that do not match your ID card.

SASSA Means Test

It is an eligibility or criteria for availing of the SASSA grant. So, if you are interested in the SASSA grant, then you must meet the means test’s clauses. It is necessary because before approving your grant application, the South African Social Security Agency checks the eligibility of the applicant and their spouse.

The means of the test is about your means of income. When you provide all your information, SASSA works systematically to check all income resources of the applicant and their spouse.

How SASSA Means Test Works

SASSA status check is only possible if you provide all information about your income. This test is used to test the economic condition of the applicant and their spouse.  In short, the SASSA means test calculates the applicant’s income and ensures that his income is less than the SRD stipend. This income threshold shows that applicants do not have enough income for economic survival.

However, conditions of means test for disabled persons, war veterans, and older citizens are a little different than others.  Here are the reasons and conditions for the means test:

  • Avoids Misuse of social grants: it works efficiently to deliver grants to the most deserving and relevant people. This test checks all your income resources to ensure your economic status.
  • Continuous Testing: “Means Test” is not for a single time. It is a continuous process till you receive an SRD grant from the government. The SASSA team works efficiently to keep your updated record.
  • SASSA Monthly Spy Test: it is necessary to keep your records clear and avoid wrong information. It is due to the monthly check from the SASSA team. In short, SASSA has all the information about your income and assets. So, if you provide them with the wrong information and you fail the SASSA means test, your monthly grant will immediately stop.
